Miracles and Wackos
Hey guys! This week has been sooo good.
Miracles on Miracles. We also have been doing so much service! Its been so fun. Sorry, this email is so long. I just had a lot to share😔
These past weeks we have been getting hecka member meals🕺🤤 When I first got to Jonesboro, we maybe got fed once a week. But now we have been getting fed a lot. Last week we had 2 member meals in one day. Then yesterday we had 3 people sign up to feed us that day and 2 people brought groceries to church for us. The ward is so clutch.🔥
This week was had a CRAZY LESSON. We were teaching 2 ladies who are in a group home. The group home is for people who have mental issues. I straightup asked if they have anything and they said they are both normal. THEY LIED. In our first lesson they were the sweetest people and we had awesome spiritual lessons. BUT THE MOST RECENT LESSON WE HAD, IT WAS INSANE. At first it was normal. We were talking about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But then "Friend A" (not allowed to say her name bc of privacy reasons, but her name is Patsy) started talking about friend ship. Idrk how she got there. Then she started talking about how she had problem with a women who is in her group home unit. She starts saying "she wants to be more than friends with me and I ain't like that" then she complains more about them. THEN SHE SAYS, and that person is FRIEND B (not allowed to say Pam bc of privacy reasons) SO FRIEND B THROWS HER PHONE ON THE CONCRETE, THEN STARTS SCREAMING AT FRIEND A. FRIEND A IS SAYINF "IF YOU TOUCH ME I WILL LAY YOU DOWN" Once she said that I had enough. I start saying, "woah woah woah" Then Friend B storms inside the house. Friend A tells us all these weird and gross stories. It was actually hilarious. But then I started to call a member into the lesson ASAP. So we are calling and then the manager of the group home comes out guns ablazin and starts yelling at Friend A. So I hang up on the member bc I thought we were gonna get kicked out. But the manager apologized to us and that was it. She didn't kick us out‼️ (I got what the manager said on vid in google photos so check it) Safe to say we are never going back to that group home ever again.
Now we can talk about the good spiritual miracles that happened this week.💒
Miracle One:
This happened on Saturday. Nothing went according to plan. We had started our day with lawn care with our solid member Brother Sullivan the Stallion. After that we went home for lunch and changed. As soon as I was about to get in the shower, another member calls us and asked us if we could do some service for her right then. So we went there and helped her with loading things into a truck and also moving things around in her yard. We were there for like 2 hours. So then we go back home to change and freshen up. Now our day is messed up bc we were supposed to be doing visits at that time. After all that, I just needed a Dr. Pepper. So after we change we go to Circle K for a drink. We pull up and see someone needed to change their tire. So we offer them help and he said that one lugnut cant come off. (NOTE: The guy changing the tire is a jacked black guy💪) so I'm thinking how can I get it off if he cant. Turns out he striped the lugnut and that's why it wouldn't work. But through the power of God, Elder Harden and I got it off and changed it. It was so cool because if was an Uber and his passenger was on her way to a church gospel choir and she was saying, "aw Satan is trying so hard on me at the moment." But when she saw our tags that said "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints." She was like " OH MY GOSH THANK YOU GOD FOR SENDING THESE MEN MY WAY" It was a miracle because if we didn't have that surprise service to do we wouldn't have been there at that moment to help them. They also are both interested in coming to church one Sunday and learning more. We took a pic at the end so check the Google Photos.
Miracle Two:
This is about our friend Shanquiel and her 2 kids. They have been getting taught since July. In that time, a lot of our lessons were a little flaky since she had hip surgery and is recovering but she is now locked in. We came over and got a calender set up on her phone so she doesn't forget our lessons. We also got church In there. AND SHE CAME TO CHURCH YESTERDAY WITH HER KIDS‼️‼️‼️‼️💒💒 Her kids loved it. They were practicing for the primary program and really enjoyed the singing. Her son especially liked the gym. As soon as he saw it, he ran in and started playing basketball after church🤣 Shanquiel also enjoyed it and said she wants to join the ward choir! So catch Elder Harden and I in there too🎤 I thought a few weeks ago that we should stop teaching her because she was prioritizing worldly things instead of God. But prayers work! She prioritized God!
Miracle three:
Back story: Tech Sisters, they are in charge of all the tech work in the mission, ex social media referrals. So we heard they were dissing us and said we were slow at reaching out to the referrals we get.🤥 So since they said that, we want to be so fast on reaching out to them. Fast forward to Sunday, we get a referral while we are daily planning. The referral was to join us for church. So we text him and basically he said, "send the address and my girl and I will show up." So we text them the address and THEY SHOW UP TO CHURCH. Of course I had no idea what they look like but the other missionaries found them and sat with them. But now we texting them and gonna meet with week to have a study! If those sisters didn't push us and diss on us, then our friend wouldn't have attended church with us.
