Hatian party🕺
Hey guys! This week started off rocky, but we finished on top🤴
I started off the week with another exchange with Elder Thacker. This time, I went to his area. It was really fun! We went to Lovejoy Donuts because their new member works there! It was bomb to see him. We also ate at this buss restaurant called "That Burger Spot" shoutout Elder Rasmussen for giving the suggestion. It was so good🤤
At our church, we lead a Tuesday night study. It's for everyone to come, and we just teach one of the discussions. At the beginning of the transfer, it was hard to get people to join, but on Tuesday, we had 6 people attend!🕺
On Thursday, we were weekly planning for our next week. When I looked at our numbers (KIs), they were so low. So I talked with Elder Harden, and we just locked in for the rest of the week. Idrk why we weren't teaching them first contact. We had pamphlets in our bags, but they never left then until Friday and Saturday🥲
We also did soooo muchhhh serviceee on Friday. Well, actually, it was just for one person, but it took hours. We were setting up a wedding reception for one of our members. All 6 missionaries did everything. If we weren't there, idk how they would've done it. Elder Burbidge and I were on technology duty, and Elder Pearson and Thacker were doing the backdrops. Elder Rad and Harden were setting up the chairs and decorating them. This was all for the reception on Saturday!
So on Saturday, we pulled up to the reception, and the church parking lot was PACKED. As soon as we got into the church, we were helping with something. We had to rearrange the gym bc before the reception, was the ring ceremony. So we moved all the chairs to the tables. Then, we moved the tables around the bride and groom. It was so funny bc over the speakers, they said only the family and the missionaries are allowed to be in here. Everyone else goes to the hall. Just as when we thought we were done, Elder Burbidge and I got called to mess with the projector since it wasn't working. But with us on the case we got it fixed💪 We also had some delicious Hatian food. But we couldn't stay long because we had to get home by 9:00.
Then, on Sunday, we had a great turnout. EIGHT of our friends popped out to church! It was so lit. Members also brought groceries to us! We also had a member meal at our new convert, Jackie's, house. It was so funny. We were sharing what we were grateful for, and then she just started praying. We were confused, but it was a good prayer. At first, she wouldn't even say a prayer in front of us. So that's improving!!
Sorry this email hecka long. Also, transfers are this week! I'm excited to see what finna happen.
